Statue of Liberty

Local nameStatue of Liberty
LocationNew York City, United States

This is New York in one sight. The iconic, majestic statue looks over the city from Ellis Island. For many who came to the States, it is the standing reminder of the value of freedom.

The monument is over 92 meters tall. It was made out of copper and given to the people of America by the people of France in 1886. At that time, it was the tallest building in New York.

There is only one way to access this colossal statue placed on Liberty Island - by ferry. You can depart from two points - New York and New Jersey. Keep in mind that before boarding the ferry, you will be asked to undergo a security check. Also, if you choose to visit the crown or the pedestal, be aware that it is forbidden to bring in food, drink, and backpacks. There are lockers available for a fee.
