Kerið

Located in the Grímsnes area, Kerið is a part of the Golden Circle, a popular scenic route in southern Iceland. Take a walk around this volcanic crater lake and admire the contrast between the red rocks and the bright blue water, caused by the minerals from the soil.

While exploring the surrounding untouched nature, try imagining a concert taking place here. Notice that the whole area resembles ancient amphitheatres and the lake itself indeed served as a stage a few times. Musicians stood on a floating raft in the middle of the lake. It must have been a truly spectacular experience.
