This huge garden complex featuring the futuristic Supertrees is a reason in itself to visit Singapore. Not only does it provide a great opportunity to see numerous species of trees and flowers in one place, but it is also an intriguing ecological project with many features enhancing sustainability including the solar cells installed on the Supertrees.
The outdoor gardens are divided into three parts - Central, East and South Garden - and can be visited for free. They include wide-open shining green lawns as well as tree-covered areas with palms and other trees.
The conservatories consist of two glasshouses: the Flower Dome, which is the largest glasshouse in the world and it is full of colourful flowers from the Mediterranean and semi-arid regions, and the Cloud Forest with numerous plants from the tropical mountain regions and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
The gardens are a perfect place for a nice family trip – apart from the botanical gardens, there is the Children's Garden with a nice water playground and also a number of restaurants and eateries to keep your bellies full.
The gardens are easily accessible from the Bayfront MRT station.
