This district with its astonishing and unique buildings caved into the mountain is the home of the thriving gypsy community.
Sacromonte is also the home of zambra, a variation of flamenco with Oriental features which is a typical dance for Gypsies of the provinces of Granada. There are several venues for flamenco and zambra performances which are worth visiting.
