Ocean Beach

This beautiful San Francisco beach is a popular destination for swimmers and surfers. However, many of both groups have died there because of the dangerous currents and waves so if you wish to swim there - be careful.

The beach is overlooked by Cliff House – a popular spot which now houses two restaurants and has been located there since the 19th century (the present-day one is the fifth Cliff House built on that spot). There was also an amusement park called the Playland (also established in the 19th century) but it was closed in 1972.

Before your visit, be sure to check the weather forecast since the weather there is often cold, foggy and windy.
