Águas Livres Aqueduct

This 18th-century aqueduct, commissioned by King John V, was used to bring drinking water to Lisbon. Although very well-preserved, it is now defunct. Still, it is an example of the remarkable Portuguese engineering of that period. The name means Aqueduct of the Free Waters.
