Ginza

Local name銀座
LocationTokyo, Japan

Everything in Ginza is high-end, from real estate to coffee. Counted among the most expensive neighbourhoods in the world, it is said that a mere 25 years ago, a single square meter in this district used to cost over 900 000 U.S. dollars.

Although this is no longer the case, the area still attracts the big fashion brands like Louis Vuitton or Gucci. And if you want to take a break from all the shopping, just relax in one of the multiple restaurants that were awarded 3 Michelin stars, and enjoy the unique Japanese details that make this district special, be it robot doormen or pristine cleanliness.

The best time to visit is during the weekend. Each Saturday and Sunday, from noon till 5 pm, the main street, Chuo-dori, is closed off to cars and becomes pedestrian-only. On the con side, there is likely to be quite a lot of people, as the district is popular among tourists and locals alike.
