Surrey is a county in South East England, and one of the home counties. It borders Kent to the east, both East & West Sussex to the south, Hampshire to the west, Berkshire to the northwest and Greater London to the northeast.
The county town is popularly considered to be Guildford although Surrey County Council is based in Kingston upon Thames, which since 1965 has been a part of Greater London. With a population of 1.1 million, Surrey is the third-most-populous county in the South East.
Surrey is divided into eleven districts: Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Tandridge, Waverley, and Woking.
