Anafiotika

Local nameΑναφιώτικα
LocationAthens, Greece

A small and picturesque enclave of white-painted houses stuffed along the narrow streets. It was the home of workers from the Cyclades Islands who came here in 1841 encouraged by King Otto I.

Most of the village was destroyed in 1950s for archaeological research, but there are still 45 houses left and it makes for a nice romantic walk on your way to Acropolis.
