If you enjoy colourful architecture, this place is a must visit for you. Burano is a group of four islands that are connected by bridges and it is located close to Venice in the Venetian Lagoon.
Apart from the picturesque houses, the island is also famed for lacemaking which has a long history on the island (starting in the 16th century). The lace is one of the most popular souvenirs sold there.
Should you get hungry, there are many little restaurants and cafés located on the island (the most often served meals being those made of fish).
The easiest way to get to the Island of Burano is by the public transport (the waterbus) which commutes there in regular intervals.
