The Frauentorturm is one of the four major medieval towers in Nuremberg.
This impressive tower once used to guard the most vulnerable place on the South-Eastern side of the Nuremberg city walls - the Frauentor gate. The gate commanded the entry to the city from the path to Regensburg. Although it's impossible to trace when exactly it was built, there are documents proving that it must have been sometime in the 14th century.
