Since 2013, this building once again serves its original purpose, being the residence of the Governor of NSW. One of the oldest buildings in Sydney, it is surrounded by vast gardens, open to visitors.

You can take a free guided tour of the building, tickets can be purchased at the gatehouse.

Opening hours

Entry to the House is by Guided Tour only. Tours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 am - 3 pm at 30 minute interval.

Gardens:
Daily: 10 am - 4 pm

The house can be sometimes closed for events - check the official website.

Admission

Free entry, but all visitors are required to register with an ID.

The free 45-minute tour of the State Rooms runs every half an hour.
