Grafton Street

Local nameSráid Grafton
LocationDublin, Ireland

One of the most popular shopping streets in Dublin, as well as one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world. Its greatest treasure, however, lies in its vibrant atmosphere, created partly by the beautiful historic houses which line it and partly by the small vendors, street artists and stalls, which you are sure to find here, too.

The street was built over three centuries ago and gets its name from the Duke of Grafton, a fruit of an illicit affair of the English king. It connects St. Stephen's Green on its one end and Trinity College Green on the other.

Nearly every big name brand has its store here, and the same goes for many of the most popular brands like Marks&Spencer or H&M. You may even go to visit a theatre here or go to the barber's. The only thing missing is benches, so if you want to take a break from the shopping spree, you have to make do with one of the many restaurants, cafés and fast-food stalls, also to be found on Grafton Street.
