Proudly tracing its roots back to the first pizzeria in America, this pizzeria sells pizzas made in coal-fired brick ovens and ranks among the most popular pizzerias in New York.
Although the brand has become so successful that it branched into many stores in several cities, this particular shop is the original, oldest one, opened by Patsy Grimaldi in 1991. The owner himself left the pizzeria several years ago and opened a new one nearby. Some say that the quality of the services and pizza has dropped since.
The pizzeria still operates in the same, small store it did from the beginning. Therefore, since it is quite popular with tourists, be ready for some queues, you may need to wait to get seated. It also doesn't take reservations, so come very early if you want a table.
