Market Square

One of the two squares in the city where you can buy quality goods at weekly markets which are held here. In the middle, there is Eternal Burning Flame statue. The statue portrays Jan Pieter Minckelers, an 18th-century professor of physics, holding an eternal burning flame in his hands. The statue honors Minckelers for inventing illuminating gas.
