Mincio Square

Local namePiazza Mincio - Quartiere Coppedé
LocationRome, Italy

This small square is the heart of the colourful Coppedè district. Coppedé, named after its designer Gino Coppedé from Florence, is one of the most extraordinary places to visit in Rome.

The architecture of the area is noteworthy for the blend of various styles, like Art Noveau and Art Deco, but also ancient Assyrian influences, or Mannerism. They are all used together to form the signature style of the place.

Notice the fountain at the center of the square. This is the famous Frog Fountain, in which all members of the Beatles once stood, while fully clothed.
