Pont Neuf

Local namePont Neuf
LocationParis, France

Admire the oldest bridge in Paris constructed between 1578-1607. See the sculptured faces of people and the statue of King Henry IV, too.

The bridge became a popular meeting place very soon after it was built since it was the first bridge in Paris with pavements and without houses built on it.

After it was opened, an equestrian statue of the King was erected there, but it was knocked over during the French Revolution. It was replaced in 1818.

It is a lovely piece of architecture to marvel upon both by the daylight and after dusk when it is all lit up.
