Founded in the 9th century, this imposing Buddhist temple was damaged during WWII. Fortunately, the temple buildings were faithfully reconstructed.
The temple is adorned with a statue of the goddess Kannon. Interestingly, an alliance that fought for the democratization of the country was established here in 1880.
