Viacheslav Chornovil

Viacheslav Maksymovych Chornovil was a Ukrainian politician. A prominent Ukrainian dissident in the Soviet Union, he was arrested multiple times in the 1960s and 1970s for his political views. He was one of the leaders People's Movement of Ukraine; editor-in-chief of the newspaper Chas-Time, one of the most prominent political figures of the 1980s–1990s who paved the path of the contemporary Ukraine to its independence.
