Central Park of Poblenou

Local name
LocationProvençals del Poblenou, Barcelona, Spain

This innovative park was designed by the famous French designer Jean Nouvel, the architect of the Agbar Tower. His goal was to help transform the formal industrial area of Poblenou and to create a relaxing area for its residents. The park opened in 2008.

It contains an old chimney and one of the many old mills that were located in the neighborhood in the past. Most of them were already torn down and replaced by modern buildings.

There are two bizarre gardens, plenty of shady trees and a playground for children. The park became a popular meeting place as well as a great spot for relaxing, walking or biking.
