This square is a must visit in case you are in the mood for shopping. It is lined up with boutiques and shops of the best-known brands (e.g. Apple, Tiffany, Cartier or Victoria's Secret) as well as cafés and bars. Being surrounded by numerous theatres and art galleries, the square is also a cultural centre of the area. It is adorned with the Dewey Monument, celebrating a hero of the Spanish-American War.
The atmosphere gets especially imposing during the Christmas period when there is always a huge Christmas tree and an ice-skating rink located in the middle of the square.
Stores usually open at 10 am (noon on Sun) and close between 7 pm and 9 pm.
