The very centre of the historical heart of the city. The square is lined with wonderful sights, like the Bell Tower and the Provincial Court, and the centrepiece of the square is the statue of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck.
Today it serves as a meeting point for tourists and locals alike. There are various restaurants, pubs and stores around the square, so you can spend a few hours here with no troubles. The beer is relatively cheap (compared to the rest of Belgium).
There is a bus station Brugge Markt right in the middle of the square, lines 2, 3, 12, 14, and 90.
