The clock tower was raised in 1915 as part of the Kowloon-Canton Railway station, which opened a year later. Made out of red bricks and granite, the tower was designed in Edwardian Classical Revival style.
The train station was demolished in 1978 but the clock tower was preserved and it is now one of the landmarks of HK. The former grounds of the station are now occupied by two museums and Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
The tower is not open to public.
