Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka are one of Kyoto's most preserved neighbourhoods. These places stayed frozen in time and reflect how Kyoto looked like before modern technologies came. You are bound to see people wearing traditional clothing here, or you can even rent it for yourself.
These streets are filled with shops and various bistros and eateries, so you are not going to leave hungry or without a souvenir, as there are plenty to choose from.
This neighbourhood is perfect for a peaceful stroll, but it tends to get crowded during cherry blossom season. Don't hesitate to stop by, take a few pictures and enjoy being in a place untouched by technology.
You can get here by taking a bus to Kiyamizu-michi.
