Skansen is the world's first ethnographic open-air museum - it is also one of the most extensive ones. It was founded in 1891 and its primary aim was to show how different parts of rural Sweden lived before the emergence of an industrialised society. Thus, while exploring this vast museum, you are in fact strolling through the history of Sweden. The exhibit includes a replica of a 19th-century town where you can observe traditional skills of many craftsmen.
The complex also houses a zoo that shows mainly Scandinavian animals. You can see more than 70 different species, including wolverines, lynxes and elks.
The opening hours are date-specific and the hours of attractions also vary.
The park usually opens at 10 a.m. and closes between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Check the website before your visit.

Seniors: 120 SEK
