This imposing waterfall is probably the most popular attraction in Skaftafell National Park. The basalt columns give the waterfall unique appearance and they are also a source of its name. The hike leading to it should not be a problem not even for those who are a bit out of shape. Save enough time for it though - it might take you even more than 2 hours, depending on your tempo. You will be rewarded with many beautiful viewpoints and opportunities to take lovely pictures.
Consider the weather conditions carefully before the hike. Expect many tourists around since it is such a popular spot.
