Contarini del Bovolo Palace

Local namePalazzo Contarini del Bovolo
LocationSan Marco, Venice, Italy

Not among the most known attractions in Venice, but this palace has its hidden charms, perfect for tourists who like visiting more than just the most sought-after points of interest.

Built in the 15th century, the palace used to be a residential home for the Contarini family. Connecting Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance elements together, this building makes for a beautiful sight. It was chosen as Brabantio's house in the 1952 adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello.

It has an arcade, which provides a good view of the city of Venice. The building has several floors leading to rooms displaying various paintings and other art items.

The establishment is right between ferry stations Rialto (1, 2, A) and S. Marco (1, 2, 10, A, B, and N).
