Portico d'Ottavia

Local namePortico d'Ottavia
LocationSant'Angelo, Rome, Italy

This impressive portico can be found overlooking the Jewish Ghetto. Although little more than ruins, it remains one of the most memorable buildings in the area.

Built in the 1st century AD, the portico was paid for by the first Roman emperor, Octavianus Augustus, who dedicated it to his sister, Octavia (hence its name).
