Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms

Local nameChurchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms
LocationLondon, UK

One of the five branches of the Imperial War Museum. It consists of the underground premises that served as a British command center during WWII and the biographical museum devoted to the life and legacy of Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of the UK from 1940 to 1945 and between 1951 and 1955.

The permanent exhibitions focus on the reality of life in the Churchill's Bunker, where the staff lived, worked and slept undercover and hidden from the sight of the general public. Most of the rooms are preserved and everything is in the same place as it was during WWII.

The nearest metro stations are St James's Park and Westminster (District and Circle lines).
