Nested in a high cliff, this medieval monastery is a must-see. The main church with a small dome is dedicated to Saint Nicholas and it is decorated with marvelous frescoes made by a celebrated Cretan painter Theophanis Strelitzas.
Although first monks occupied the rock back in the 14th century, the current monastery was built in the middle of the 16th century.
