Local nameجزيرة اللؤلؤ
LocationAbu Dhabi, UAE

Al Lulu Island Arabic: جزيرة اللؤلؤ‎ is a 1,050-acre man-made island off the coast of Abu Dhabi island, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It stretches from the Abu Dhabi Breakwater to the Zayed Sea Port.

Land reclamation was started in 1988 and completed in 1992. After several plans that were subsequently dropped, the island is now being developed by Sorouh Real Estate as a mixed commercial and residential project. Arquitectonica was tasked with the development of the master plan. It was also rumoured that Al Lulu Island was going to be a tourist destination for a Disney theme park during the mid-1990s.On 1 January 2009, the previous ferry service was abruptly stopped due to unspecified 'renovations' on the island. Access became by private boat only.
