Formerly the capital city of the Khmer empire, Angkor Thom is now a quite popular attraction in Siem Reap. This vast area (10 square kilometres) is filled with beautiful sights and temples.
Admire the well-preserved structures made of laterite which have survived almost 8 centuries. The carvings are magnificent and the architecture of the temple is very typical for Khmer culture. Bring plenty of water with you.
