The natural limestone arch used to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malta. Sadly, it collapsed into the Mediterranean Sea after heavy storms on 8 March 2017. According to geologists, the erosion was inevitable since 2013 and it was banned to walk across the arch since last year.
The vista made several appearances in media, including the Clash of Titans and the HBO television series Games of Thrones.
