Benten Temple in Ueno Park

Local name弁天堂
LocationTokyo, Japan

This temple, hidden away at the heart of the Shinobazu pond in the Ueno Park, is dedicated to the goddess Benzaiten - a popular Buddhist deity thought to bestow prosperity and good fortune.

At first, the temple could only be reached by a boat. Eventually though, a bridge was added to provide easier access to the temple.

Some of the most noteworthy sights in the temple include the "The Hall of Mahakala", and the Torii Gate.
