Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1995, this town is full of lively fairy-tale manors and palaces. Definitely worth visiting for its magnificent 19th-century Romantic architecture. In addition, Sintra is home to a number of picturesque parks, which serve as a great getaway.
Makes for a great day trip from Lisbon.
