What once served as a factory complex is nowadays the home of hip restaurants and chic shops. History of this place is quite interesting. Its name comes from the city block's owner, Domenico Ghirardelli, who turned it into a headquarters of his chocolate company. When in 1962, the production was moved elsewhere, a couple of San Franciscans bought the property and turned it into a retail complex.
It is, without a doubt, one of the most pleasant and unique places where to shop and dine in San Francisco. Explore some of the still original stores, have a meal in one of the stylish restaurants and enjoy great views of the bay.
