Known as the Great Buddha of Kamakura, this huge bronze statue of Amida Buddha is the second highest in the country (13,35 meters). It is also one of the oldest of its kind, having been built as early as 1252.
There is one more thing special about this Buddha though - the statue is hollow, so the visitors can enter it. It is even allowed to take pictures inside.
