Hurva Synagogue

Local nameבית הכנסת החורבה
LocationOld City of Jerusalem, Israel

This historical synagogue, originally founded in the 18th century, was rebuilt from ruins in 2010. Although new elements were added, it has retained its original Neo-Byzantine style. The synagogue is well worth visiting for its Holy Ark, which not only contains Torah scrolls but is also the tallest ark in the world. The dome and its terrace offer splendid views of the surrounding area.
