A stunning garden that belongs amongst the oldest in the entire Japan - the Koishikawa Korakuen was built during the Edo period and has remained one of the most popular relaxation places in Tokyo ever since.
If you really want to enjoy the best the garden has to offer, visit at the end of the year when the Fall paints the trees' leaves in various hues of red and yellow. Another great time to visit is during the so-called plum season, in time for hanami - the cherry flower viewing custom.
