Located in the Restauradores neighbourhood, this street is the main thoroughfare of the city. Taking inspiration from famous Parisian boulevards, Avenida da Liberdade was constructed in 1879. Liberty Avenue connects Edward VII Park with Restauradores Square and is more than 1 km long.
The avenue is lined with stores of luxurious brands, designer boutiques and marvellous buildings. If you are trying to escape the sun and fancy a sip of coffee, head into one of many cafés on this street. They usually have outside tables shaded by trees. Also, a large monument to the fallen in World War I is located here.
The nearest metro station is Avenida.
