Built in 1889, this villa has an interesting history - over the years serving as a residential house, a military hospital, a soup kitchen, site for foreign students, a café, a brothel and a disco. Today, it serves as an institution for promotion of culture in Berlin.
There are numerous literary and screenplay readings, writing workshops, symposiums and much more. It's a perfect place for the dreamy literature lovers - if they speak German. The house also has a bookstore and a café.
Literaturhaus is right next to the metro/bus station Uhlandstr., metro line U1, bus lines 109, 110, 249, M19, M29, N10 and X10.
