Memorial of the hungarian jewish martyrs

Local nameEmanuel-emlékfa
LocationBudapest, Hungary

Hidden away at the backyard of the Great Dohanyi Synagogue, this park commemorates the hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews who lost their lives at the hands of the Nazi regime's lackeys.

Its greatest spectacle is the sculpture of a weeping willow by Imre Varga. The tree carries a name of one of the victims on each of its leaves.
