This museum focuses on artworks by 20th century Italian and foreign artists. Its collection includes about 400 works, mostly paintings, photographs and sculptures that were made from 1902 till the 1970s. Major highlights include works by Braque, Picasso, Matisse or Boccioni. The museum also hosts concerts and temporary exhibitions.
The 3-floor-high museum is organised in sections according to chronological order and artistic movements. When visiting, take notice of the palace in which the museum is located, too. It was designed through a collaboration of several architects, specifically to provide an adequate home to the museum. Especially interesting is its huge spiral staircase.
The museum is easily accessible via public transport, there are subway as well as bus stops (the Duomo) within sight.
