Covering the Namsan mountain and the area around it, this is the largest park in Seoul. The park is a great place to take a walk in with extensive history. It is also an excellent spot to take pictures from, especially during sunrise and sundown.
It takes approximately 30 minutes of a relatively steep climb to reach the top of the mountain. If you do not want to make the entire trip, there is a cable car line all the way to the top, as well as a bus connection available.
Every Monday, there is The Namsan Beacon Mound Lighting Ceremony taking place at the Namsan Park's Beacon Mound, as well as a patrolling ceremony of the guards before and after the ceremony. This is a historical tradition, reminding visitors of the ancient Bongsu: a system of sending messages using smoke and torchlight.
