Established in 1883, this gallery is all about modern art. It hosts more than 5 000 artworks, both paintings and sculptures, that date from the 18th century all the way to the 1960s. Among its collection are the works of world-renowned artists like Cezanne, Van Gogh, or Monet.

The gallery was moved to the current building only in 1915. Before that, it was located in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
