Ninna-ji temple

A head temple of Omuro school of Buddhism consists of impressive buildings and tranquil gardens. Its monumental 5-storey pagoda is a must-see. As many other temples in Kyoto, even this one dates back more than a thousand years. It was established in the 9th century but damaged by fire later on and completely rebuilt.
