Phillips Square is a public square located in Downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is named for Thomas Phillips, a building contractor and city councillor who bought the land the from fur trader Joseph Frobisher. Phillips died in 1842, and the square is on land that was donated by his widow to be used as a perpetual memorial to her husband.
