Part of the cathedral complex, this impressive library was set up in the 15th century by Cardinal Piccolomini, hence the name. Definitely worth visiting for the magnificent frescoes that adorn the interior. Created by the famous Italian artist Pinturicchio, they depict life stories of Pope Pius II.
