Also called Columbus Square, this plaza commemorates the famous Italian explorer and navigator. It is notable mainly as home of the world's largest Spanish flag, more than 20 meters long.

There is also a monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus, erected in 1885. The statue's outstretched arm is pointing towards the New World.
