Sant Joan de Malta Church

Local nameSant Joan de Malta
LocationPalma, Spain

The church was built as a gift to the knights of Saint John of Jerusalem. It has undergone centuries of reconstruction that in reality wipes out any trace of the original 13th century building, but it is still an impressive sight to visit.

The church that you now see is Baroque in style rather that Gothic with little decoration. There is a small sculpture depicting an angel in prayer above the door. The altar has a statue of Saint John the Baptist presiding over it and images of San Cayetano and Santo Christo De Los Boteros are standing left and right respectively.
